Highways will be doing multiply pieces of work along the A47 between the A1065 Dereham Junction and Honingham Roundabout, Norwich Road, Honingham. This is to enable them to divert existing utilities including British Telecom cables, Anglian Water Pipes and National Grid Cables. They will also be improving entry/exit points at there compounds which will allow large and slow vehicles to safely join the A47 in the future. They will also be undertaking various routine maintenance activates along the route.
The work will take place on the A47 between 9pm and 6am from 29 – 31 May.
To allow them to complete this work safely, the A47 will be fully closed eastbound from Dereham A1075 Junction to Honingham Roundabout and westbound from Honingham roundabout to the Mattishall Road Entry Slip at Dereham.
All side road access will be closed onto the A47. Residents living directly on the A47 will be escorted through the closure by traffic marshals where access is required during the closure. Access routes through the closure will be maintained for the Emergency Services.
The official HGV capable diversion route takes traffic south from Dereham on the A1065 to Thetford then back along the A11 so the village is avoided.
