A47 North Tuddenham to Easton scheme – upcoming overnight work and full road closure between 8pm Friday 13 February and 6am Monday 16 February 2026
Galliford Try will be upgrading the A47 between Fox Lane junction and Easton Roundabout.

To complete there work safely, the A47 will be fully closed in both directions from Longwater Junction to Dereham interchange.
They also have a contingency closure in place from 8pm Friday 27 February to 6am Sunday 1 March 2026 in case they are unable to complete all works.
During the closure, they we will be installing a contraflow on the Westbound carriageway between Fox Lane Junction and the end of the dual carriageway. This will allow for them to begin to tie-in the new dual carriageway.
They will also be switching traffic onto the new local access roads between Honingham Roundabout and Easton Roundabout with traffic being routed south of the new Norwich Road Junction. Taverham Road will be fully closed at the junction of the current A47 as part of this switch. Temporary access will be maintained for Honingham Church.
Diversions will be in place.
Westbound Diversion Route:
Head east on the A47
Join the A11 and head southwest
Leave the A11 at Thetford and join the A134 heading northwest
At Mundford take the A1065 northwards towards Swaffham
Rejoin the A47 at Swaffham and head east.
Eastbound Diversion Route:
Head west on the A47
Leave the A47 at Swaffham and head south on the A1065
At Mundford take the A134 to Thetford heading southeast
At Thetford take the A11 heading northeast Toward Norwich
Rejoin the A47 and head northwest
All side road access will be closed onto the A47. Residents living directly on the A47 will be escorted through the closure by traffic marshals when access is required during the closure. Access routes through the closure will be maintained for the Emergency Services.
Taverham Road diversion route
Northbound:
Head east on the A47 to Easton Roundabout
Take the first exit onto Church Lane
Turn left onto Ringland Road
Turn left onto Weston Road
Rejoin Taverham Road
Southbound:
Head southeast on Weston Road
Turn right on Ringland Road
Turn Right on Church Lane
Turn right (second exit) and rejoin the A47 at Easton Roundabout
