A47 Full Weekend Closure

Galliford Try will be carrying out preparatory work to Easton Roundabout as part of their next steps as they upgrade the road to dual carriageway.

To complete their work safely, the A47 will be fully closed overnight in both directions from Wood Lane Junction to Longwater Interchange between 8pm and 6am on 30 June and also on the night of 1 July.

The B1535 Wood Lane to the A1067 will remain fully open.

From reopening of the closure on 1 July onwards the circulatory function of the roundabout will be closed. This means there will be no right turns at the roundabout. Eastbound traffic will not be able to turn onto Dereham Rd, Easton and Westbound traffic will not be able to turn onto Church Lane. There will also be a 3.25 metre width restriction in place through the project which only effects oversized loads.

Diversions will be in place.

A47 Diversion Route

Westbound Diversion Route:
Head east on the A47
Join the A11 and head southwest
Leave the A11 at Thetford and join the A134 heading northwest
At Mundford take the A1065 northwards towards Swaffham
Rejoin the A47 at Swaffham and head east.

Eastbound Diversion Route:
Head west on the A47
Leave the A47 at Swaffham and head south on the A1065
At Mundford take the A134 to Thetford heading southeast
At Thetford take the A11 heading northeast Toward Norwich
Rejoin the A47 and head northwest

All side road access will be closed onto the A47. Residents living directly on the A47 will be escorted through the closure by traffic marshals when access is required during the closure. Access routes through the closure will be maintained for the Emergency Services.
